Hi! I have a few questions on what chip and injector i should be using. My vehicle will have a brand new TA49, heads have the bowls cleaned up, eastern performance stage 3 cam, 3" downpipe and all the basics done. What size injectors should i be using?? I have an eastern performance street lethal chip. Can i use it? IS there anything better? What would my optimal chip/injector combo be? thanks
Well, the chip has to be cut for the injectors you are using, so no matter what, you'll need a new chip.
The TA49 is a great turbo and can benefit from more injector. A very popular and successful combination is the "blue tops" or 36# injectors. It's pretty well known to all of the major chip makers (Jay Carter, Joe Lubrant, Red Armstrong, Casper's, etc.)
Another option is 009s or MSD50s, but that is often overkill for that combination.
Any chance of dipping into a 11.8 1/4 mile with the above combo and 36 or 37lb injectors? Who is a good source for the chip/injector combo? cottons? Precision?
Yep. Many have done it. Mid 11s might require a bit more injector/turbo. An intercooler upgrade will make it easier.

Bluetops and a Thrasher 108 will go easy high 11's with a stock intercooler, a TA49, a good flowing intake and exhaust and boost in the low 20's, as long as the car's in good working order and you can hook up in the 1.7 60ft range (not too hard with an airbag and 275/60 drag radials or slicks).
I've gone 11.5's with the above (except a big neck on the stock I/C) at 117-118 mph and a stock long block.
The downside with bluetops and ported heads is you will run out of injector when you really turn up the boost. When tuned out, your heads/cam could run low 11 at 24psi and bluetops won't support that.

OK, what would be a step up from the blue tops? And what ship should i use?
For the same (or close to the same) price as the blue tops, you can get the 009's (42 lbs). You can get where you want to go with the blue tops, but you will be on the edge. Then if you upgrade anything else to go faster you will have to upgrade injectors as well.
I went 11.90's with a similar combo and was running out of fuel with the blue tops at the top end. The 009's are fine in this same range and have some more in them. Have to get a roll bar to see how much.
I really like Jay Carter's chips. I use his race chip and his Variable Timing chip for the street. I have used these chips with both the blue tops and the 009's.
