I have a 87GN with 38k miles on it. I am working on getting it into the low 12's and was wondering if the stock coil pack is capable of this, or do i need to upgrade to a higher power unit? If i need to upgrade, what do you suggest? And what brand of wires will work best? Accel? Taylor? etc.
Thanks again!
Bill

The stock coil/module setup has been used on some of the fastest TRs out there, so I assure you its more than adequate for a 12 second car. I would suggest you use a GM coil, as the aftermarket replacements (i.e. Wells) do not seem to hold up.

Opinions vary on wires. Some use standard GM issue wires. Some like the inexpensive ones that Red Amrstrong (Quad Air) sells. Lately, MSD and Holley have come out with wire sets to fit the TRs. The 10mm Magnecore wires are probably overkill and I've never heard anyone say they provided any clear improvement.
