Wednesday, December 26, 2001 - 08:28 am We just pushed my canister over to the side. Watch out for the alternator bracket. You will most likely need to do some "fiddling around" to get the pipe to clear the alternator bracket. This drove me completely insane. There is some differing opinions on how the MAF pipe will fit against the alternator bracket. Some people (myself included) just have the MAF pipe REALLY close to the bracket, but they don't touch or rub each other. Other people have wedged a piece of rubber in between the MAF pipe and the alternator bracket to prevent any scratching. However, somen people think that this will cuase the MAF sensor to vibrate and eventually die. Also, be advised that the way the pipe fits in to the hoses will not be 100% straight. You will need to angle them (and the hose clamps) just a little. Clear as mud? Search the archives for "MAF" and "pipe" or "K&N" for more info: http://www.ajlc.waterloo.on.ca/gnsearch.html http://www.gnttype.org/archives/search.html

Thursday, December 27, 2001 - 08:45 am Yeah, as far as the canister goes, just remove one of the bolts and rotate it out of your way. I also had to bend the upper rad. hose bracket down out of the way....Just don't let it touch the alt. fan! John

Thursday, December 27, 2001 - 09:34 am I have mine mounted to the radiator support. I rotated it 90 degrees so the bottom faces the front of the car. It is moved as far as possible to the inner fender. I used one of the original mounting tabs on the canister and put a speed nut in the radiator support. It has been that way for a couple of years now.
