I didn't know which forum I could ask this in, but I am about to purchase a new car to modify into a turbo. I've raced with other people's cars, and I'm no mechanic, so I'm a bit lost as far as what specifications(i.e. V6/V8, HP, etc.) to look for. Someone give me a hand?

Not sure what your question is...

Are you looking to buy a new car from the dealer, and then put a turbo on it? There are bolt-on turbo kits out there.

Or are you looking to buy a used naturaly aspirated (carbed) or fuel injected car and put a turbo on it?

If you ARE looking for a used car, I would consider a turbo-t or GN and save yourself the hassle of bolting on a turbo.

Try the buyers guide and for sale page:

I'm looking for a new car to buy from a dealer, that way I can add on to the car exactly what I want, I'm just not sure what would work best to put turbo on.

There are good kits available for both Mustangs and Camaros if you wish to start with a brand new car. I suspect a Mustang might make the best base and have more stuff available for it. I have not paid attention to pricing but I suspect to have one installed will run $4500-5000.

If you start with a near stock Regal or Turbo TransAm, and build it the way you wish, You will be in for %50-65% of the cost depending upon the performance level you desire unless you are looking for nines or better :)

I've been looking at Mustangs, but I'm not going classic, I want a 2002, but I just don't know what engine specifications, like V6 or V8, what HP is best, liters, etc.

Since this conversation basically has absolutely nothing to do with Turbo Regals, I think it would be best if you found another place to discus it.
