I have a GN motor that came with a plastic (i think its plastic) spacer plate installed between the upper plenum and the intake. How does it help performance? Will it hurt performance? This is the way the engine came and i have no problem leaving it in as long as it does not hurt performance. Thanks!

supposedly, it was supposed to even out the air and fuel flow to all cylinders. But no one knows for sure if it was worth anything.

The guys over at turbobuick.com have a thread going on the lastet technology, the "powerplate"

Could someone tell me what the difference is with 87GN that have red striped valve covers. I have seen a few with them and don't know what the difference is, that is if there is one. From what I am assuming, the factory GN does not have this feature
