I have an 85 Regal T-Type. The motor one day pretty much fell to peices.- Long story short. She was running like crap and sounded like she was missing a cylinder and definately running like it so I did a compression check and found out that the #5 cylinder was dead. Cracked open the valve cover and found the first pushrod on the #5 cylinder bent over and not even on the rocker. Removed it and went to get a new one the same day. Replaced it and when I tightened up the rocker arm piece the pushrod had about a half inch of play between it and the rocker. All the others are tight just that one. Plan to tear it apart this weekend, just need some ideas on what it could be??? Any thing I might need to check also. Email me a Cturboaddict@aol.com THanx...
Chris, sounds like a collapsed lifter. You checked the pushrod, but what about the lifter???

I am planning on pulling it apart this weekend. I am going to pull the intake off and see what is going on down there. Thanx for the response. Any other suggestions please let me know.
by chance did you compare the new pushrod to one of the other ones that was in the eng, maybe they sold you the wrong pushrod, 1/2 inch is alot of play, maybe you will get lucky

Yeah, checked it they are the same. Pulled off the intake today- lifter was crushed and found 4 more bent pushrods.
