I have an '84 hot air t-type. I have heard metion of fuel system upgrades using a 307 fuel pump, adjustable regulator, and a hotwire. I am assuming that the 307 fuel pump is a fuel pump from a gm 307 ci engine? I have no idea what a hotwire is, and i don't know where to find an adjustable regulator. (although i'm sure i can find it on this site somewhere) I'd appreciate anyone that could throw me a link to any of this info.

One more thing: My car isn't shifting right (i think). The guy who had it before me had put a B&M stage 1 shift kit in it, and it does not shift until 4500 RPMs most of the time. Nice for performance, but i am a daily driver, i would like to know how to adjust that for when i am just driving around town.

Thanks a bunch!

As for the performance parts- check Kirban performance parts they sell all of the parts. As far as i know the fuel pump isnt from a 307ci engine- gm dosent make a 307. anyway i think the 307 stands for how much fuel it flows and yes it does work. the hotwire kit is for the fact that the factory buick fuel pump does not get enough voltage to the pump. factory is 8 volts i think not 12. the adjustable regulator you can get from kirban also.... also kirban will send you a free catalog and it is filled with stuff.

also check out caspers electronics they have some good stuff also...

As for the transmission prob- i dont think you can adjust it but im no transmission expert. Try the transmission section on this site and post a message or try this link

I Once owned an '84 Olds Delta 88 5.0 Litre, which had a 307.

Thanks for the link to the performance parts supplier too! I've been looking for a few good catalogs, and i've foud a few on the discussion boards, Is there a resource on this site listing suppliers of Buick Performance parts?

Thanks Again

Really, 307 olds- i thought they only made a 305 for the 5.0.
Brian check out the Hot air performance recipies on this site. They sound TASTY...... it is under resources.

No one here probably don't give it damn (cause I don't) but I'll share the little knowledge that I have (thanks to my hard core Chivvy brother I learned a little from him). The 5.0 GM motors are: Chivvy 302 (1969), Chivvy 305 (1972 n up), Chivvy 307 (1969-72) and the Olds 307 (early 70's n up). It's a shame none could muster up the HP of a 3.8L 231 (LC2 motor)!!!!!!!!

307 Olds came in the 83' and 84' Hurst olds. Nice looking cars but not much performance from a 307

Also check with Red Armstrong on this site under vendors he sales the complete kits with direction for fuel pump hot wire and you can get the adjustable regulator too. The tv cable can be adjusted for shift points on you tranny, this screws in and out for better shifting you may want to try this first or it may need to be adjusted by a tranny shop.

Had a 307 Olds too. Not much performance is being kind. Best thing I can say about it is that it didn't break.
