Mark Taylor (Mtaylor) | Friday, June 07, 2002 - 05:58 am I've got an '85 which has a couple mods, such as an adjustable waste gate, aftermarket boost/tach gauge, etc. When I'm under WOT on acceleration I get a "Bog" under boost at about 16-18 PSI. Should I back off the wastegate so I don't exceed 12-15lbs? Engine seems to really bog down when I have the hammer all the way down, if I let up just a touch it screams. . .any other suggestions? thanks! |
Scott Przybysz (Priz) | Friday, June 07, 2002 - 07:46 pm The bog is probably from the computer pulling out timing because of knock. I'd back it off before you blow a headgasket or worse. |
Jamie Wolcott (Turbo6x2) | Wednesday, June 19, 2002 - 06:36 am do you have computer or something hooked up for readings? Are you running to rich or lean, this will cause a bog only real way to tell is with a reading. If you not careful you could blow it up. Too much fuel will cause the car to bog at wot, to little usually will cause it to back fire and also run sluggish (right before a big boom) |
