Jamie Wolcott (Turbo6x2) | Tuesday, July 23, 2002 - 07:59 am this is a 85 GN still hot air- we have replaced and verified the following on it the coil good, ignition module good, crank sensor good, cam sensor good, plugs new, plug wires good, tps .45 at idle, no codes come up when running, but this only occurred after we blew off the hose to radiator and doused the motor pretty good, reason the hose blew off is we added an electric water pump moded the pipe (removed the lip)and the hose blew off a couple of times (only water and water wetter in there no antifreeze) Put the lip back on the pipe the hose goes on for radiator and that problem is resolved. Now it only starts if you give it gas (like it needs gas)any input greatly appreciated. |
Rory Binkowski (Gforce598) | Friday, July 26, 2002 - 06:58 am Did you check the voltage at the tps? This could have gotten out of alignment some how. Also there is a idle stop screw incase you need to open up the throttle a bit. Hope this helps. Gforce598 |
Jamie Wolcott (Turbo6x2) | Friday, July 26, 2002 - 07:19 am checked tps all is right with the world there. Will look at the other when I get home from work. Really would like this out and turning in some good times. Thanks for your input |
Sam Gray (Grays84gn) | Sunday, July 28, 2002 - 06:38 am with a scan tool check coolant temp, it shouldbe ambient air temp at first start up and rise slowly to 190-210F deg. If it reads 245f or more at start up it would explain the reason why you have to give it gas to start it. If it is -40 you will be flodding the motor with gas.....when you give it gas are you flooring it? This would be in clear flood mode...shutting of fuel flow when starting...good luck |
