The brain in my '84 T-Type is shot. There must have been a leak under the windshield because it's rotted and the orange power wire pin broke off. I'm selling this car to restore my '85 GN so I just want to get it running right. I've read that I can put a used ECM in it and hear prices of about $25.00 or so. I have another '85 Regal but it has the V6 w/ carb and distributor. Which one will work? Thanks. George

As long as you get an ECM with the same service number (not sure what it is for the 84/85s?)... the ECMs are the same. You'll need to transfer the CalPak and the EPROM chip from the ruined ECM to the new one.

Should be plug 'n play.

Thanks Ken. As soon as I pulled the one out of the parts car I saw the difference. The contacts are the foil covered silicon type instead of the pin type. I can't wait any more so I ordered a reman unit for $105.00. I'll have it tomorrow. AT least I'll be on the road soon. Thanks again. George
