Friday, December 20, 2002 - 05:49 am Hi, I'm new to this so bear with me. I need a complete rebuild to my 84 GN. I would love to do this myself, but I'm a sailor in the Navy and will be stationed overseas in Italy. The car will be in SC. If anyone knows of a reputable repair shop i would appreciate it. BTW when i say rebuild i mean REBUILD. Everything fron the engine to the body to the suspension to the interior/exterior ETC. ETC. ETC.

Friday, December 20, 2002 - 10:48 pm No offense, but why dump all of this money into a hot air car? You can buy a really nice hot air for less than you'll pay to have yours restored OR kick in a few extra bucks (ok, alot of extra bucks) and buy a nice cold air that doesn't need the work. I bought an 87 T with 108k miles on it and dropped it off at a shop long term to redo the drive train. Turned out the guy (GNT Performance in Sarasota Fl) cracked out and stripped the car. I lost thousands on parts. My next car? An 87 GN with 35k miles in mint shape. Sure ,it was alot more money...but it never has to be dropped off anywhere again!! Ian WakkoSS@aol.com

Saturday, December 21, 2002 - 07:21 am No offense taken. In my case, I am the original owner of the car and therefore know how it has been treated (the good, the bad and the ugly) The car has approx 150k on it and there is a lot of history here. Besides, I LIKE it. Phil

Sunday, December 22, 2002 - 12:25 am I also take no offense. I understand it sounds crazy but i dont want to contribute to anymore "lost" 84's. There were only 2000 manufactured. Plus i LOVE it. Thank you for your info for cotton's performance. I've read about and did a little research, he was already one of my choices.
