Has anyone ever tried to install their intake manifold backwards (with the inlet toward the front of the car)? I was thinking about trying this in order to make more room for an intercooler install. I currently have a spearco intercooler kit, but the pipes have very tight clearance toward the firewall and the pipes are very long. Any thoughts on this. I believe it is possible.

Well it could probaly be done but the first problem I see is where are you going to put the turbo, throttle body and what about the coilpak and accesory drive. If you stop and think about this is exactly the same problem the Buick engineers ran into when they went to intercooling. It explains why there is a difference between the hot air and I/C cars.

Why couldn't the turbo stay where it is (other than the oil return line) and just reclock it? I'm not saying it is what the Buick engineers should have done, but I think it is VERY possible.
