Hi, I have a 85 GN. I am looking into getting a scan tool for it. It still has the Stock ECM in it. Scanmaster will not work, is that right? What do you suggest I use for it if that is the case? Turbo Link looks very cool. I guess my big question is that scanmaster will or will not work? I have many question on the car but this is my biggest. Also is anyone using the Ultra Chip with the thump wheel and do you like it? Thanks for you time guys.

You are right, ScanMaster isn't designed for the early ECMs.

TurboLink will work with it (and many other vehicles as well).

Thank you for the much needed information Ken. I will be calling you at Turbo Link real soon to order one. It seems to be the way to go for me. Do you have to have a lab top to use Turbo Link or can you use your Personal In Home Computer? If not I will have to look into getting a Lab Top. Thanks agian Ken. Nick

Take a look at:

http://www.turbo-link.com

Especially the FAQs (much better than my ramblings here! :))

You need the lap top in the car and you can also transfer files to your desktop if you want.

Actually I have already spent a great deal of a time looking at your site. I am ready to buy a turbo link but I am waiting first until I find a lab top...I am in the market for a good used one. But, I might just have to break down and buy a new one. Either way I know I definitly need to one because I am looking forward to having a great summer of fun with my GN at the track and out on the town. Thanks for the reply Ken. I appreciate your help with this. Nick
