Hello everyone, just picked up a 85 Buick T-type hot-air that is totally stock. Was wondering what stock 1/4 mile and 0-60 times were.. I love this car already because it was my once in a lifetime deal that i couldnt pass up. It has 139k, runs fine, some minor rust and a cracked windshield but for $500! Im not complaining! Guy was getting divorced so everything had to go for immediate lawyers fees. Im planning on some immediate bolt on upgrades but was curious of what the car was capable of stock, any info much appreciated.
I think stock 1/4 mile times were 15.5 seconds and up! The 200HP/300 FT/LB of torque. The stock turbo is small........intake is restrictive(big time)....heads are restrictive...take off the cat if you can....
Get yourself a nice boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, knock gauge, and possibly a scan tool if ya can....kinda expensive, but one of the best mods!!
Get an adjustable wastegate rod or make your own and run racegas and then turn up the boost. Every 1psi of boost is about 10HP they say.
