I am currently working on a V2 type intake system for hotair cars. For years I have wanted to find a good way to intercool my 84 Gn, and attempted to buy the V2 when the GP went south a few years ago. So, I decided to buy up some intakes and go it alone. I am working with a fabricator from the Syclone Typhoon market, who is so impressed with the new design that he has decided to buy himself a hotair. We will be flow benching the new intake shortly and look to produce complete kits in short order.

Is there any real interest in this type of kit? I know for certain we are building 2 of these, one for mine and one for his, but we would like to extend production to others to help defer our r&d and production costs. I am actually thinking that if flow numbers are in the range expected, I may put this intake on an 86-87 car as well.

I don't know why you need an intercooler when you can run 11's on a hot air. Just saying...

Jamie,
There are lots of ways to 'skin a cat'. You have found your way and I congratulate you for it. I have an '84 and have looked at your recipe. I'm in the middle of rebuilding the engine to my daily driver and would've been thrilled if it could perform in the 13-second zone but you've literally blown me away with your accomplishment. Now I'm second-guessing myself. To intercool or not?

My not-so-unique goal is a quicker than most, reliable, daily driving machine. If it's cheaper and easier to do that following your path versus the intercooled one, that's fine with me.

Again, congratulations on your stunning achievement!

Nick

I was just saying it's not all about the intercooler. We have discussed how much I would gain with one and that's where it ends. You need to do what makes you happy. I just like to see the hot airs do well, especially when we are usually looked down at as the red headed step children in the buick community, by most that is. All I'm saying.
