I just rebuilt the engine in my 85 GN. It has Speedpro forged pistons, Comp Cam, Port matched heads, headers, green stripe injectors, Casper 3.02 7 stage chip, etc. Anyway I just got it running and it is no where near as fast as I thought it would be. It doesn't even seem much faster than before. Maybe my injectors are too small? How perfect does the setting of the cam sensor have to be? I am running around 12-15 lbs boost. Is that enough? thanx for any help

Steve,
I just rebuilt my 85 and I had a similar problem. However, my problem was in the injectors and the chip. I believe i've figured it out but I won't know until this weekend. My car is equipped with
an intercooler, comp cam, t33 turbo, TRW pistons, port polished heads and intake, 36 lb injectors, cold air kit, headers, exhaust, etc etc.
I was expecting low 12 / high 11 but i'm not there yet. Once I ported the heads I knew I was going to have problems with boost. The 85 cpu needs to be changed to an 87 to allow better chip variation. I've been talking to a few guys that are running over 20 lbs of boost in their 85 and they're seeing the results they expected. I also learned if you're using the stock cpu you can't use any injector larger than 36 lbs. I don't think i've helped much but i'll know more tomorrow when me and my engine builder perform a final tweaking..
