Hi everyone!I am currently trying to re-build an 84 T-type.I have alot of Q's.I am in need of a TPS and the price is $140-$180 while an 84 regal TPS is $20.This seems unusual as the TPS is only a type of resistor regulating the 5v lead from .4-5v.Is there a difference between them or does anyone know an alt?My tach lights do not register anything. It sits at 800-1000.If the tach lead comes from the ign. module (white wire I believe)how can you check the lead to see if its sending anything.I heard there is a tach feed on the DRV.side inner fender well.Is there any way to check these conn.to try to diagnose.I have an adj. wastegate to the turbo but I am not sure how to adjust it.I see there is a lock nut but do you shorten rod length or go longer. You have to make adj.in half turn increments.Boost according to the un-reliable factory gauge is less than half.Performance is not what it used to be.Seems to have an intermittent miss.Plugs look great! No check engine lights!Just got the code 32 fixed.EGR solenoid filter had a wire off.I am running the old pintle injectors probably over 100,000 miles and the original inj. harness.Pretty dry rot and cracked. When you stomp it at a stop it has slow response.Only after a slow start does it start to pick up fast as the boost finally hits.Could the TPS cause the miss at idle, the slow start and weak WOT.I put a dc analog volt meter on tps and it only registers 4v at max if you manually open just sensor to max travel.I will be getting new injectors probably 30 lb,and an aftermarket inj.harness soon. This is only the start of a long restore project. So if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. This is why I ask here, pretty impressed with the expert advice I have read in other postings. Thanks,Mike

Contact John Spina at Caspers Electronics (847) 247-0484 8AM to 5PM CST. He has the 1984/85 TPS sensor for $75.00.

You may want to ask him about some of the other problems as well.

Ok,I have located a TPS for 28.00.Now It would help me to know Fuel pressure stats at fuel rail under various conditions. How much at idle,WOT,and just pressure not running. Also the Adj.wastegate how does the rod affect boost?Lengthen it or shorten or what? Not real sure on that.Any info about the tach? Thanks!
