well guys, i have finally decided to put sum money into my car

i have decided to get headers and an exhaust and new fuel pump so far.

alright so i assume i am gunna get sum headwork done to give this thing sum power

i have 60k on my gn and it runs fine, but there comes a time when every gn owner wants to go faster

well i have seen these gn1 heads, does any1 use these? what kind of horsepower do they offer a stock car?
or would it be smarter to try to get my stock heads redone with sum performance parts?

i really dunno, every1 says u can port and polish stock heads, but for what that costs and for new parts, u could probli get a set of gn1 heads for a few bucks more.

i know it probli sounds like a cheesy question, but i am kinda stuck on making a decision, maybe sum of you guys can offer some advice to a not so knowledgable guy???? maybe either with the gn1 heads or with re working some stock heads

id appreciate any kinda input you coudl give me
thanx alot

Don't bother with the head work until you do someting with the intake. The stock heads out-flow the stock intake.

Get ahold of TurboMotion in florida. He has intakes and IC conversions for our cars. Mine (is setup to use a modified stock IC) flows 230+cfm per runner. Out of the box GN1's will flow with that. The stock intake only flowed like 130-140 per runner.

Get the atr headers and DP. I have them on my car and love them.

My car has gone 12.12@117 at 3500ft elevation with only 23psi, no traction.

Combo was as follows:
86 shortblock with steel caps, 214/208 cam
ATR Headers
TA-54
55# Inj
Turbomotion IC intake
9" converter
etc...

for more info, email me..

hey guys, I just bought a 85 gn and let me tell you am in my glory.I used to dream of owning one since i first saw one in 86.finally i could afford one so i bought the first one that i found. She runs great all stock as far as i can tell i put afew hundred into it already fuel pump and stuff just maintenance to get it on the road.Boy this car is so fast i still cant balieve it ifeel like a pig in "@##$".Now i found out that the 86 and 87 were intercooled i wish i would have waited but its to late now, besides with all the compliments i get on it icant complain.Anyway my problem is that both of my exhaust manifolds are cracked and i dont want to put manifolds on again i want to replace them with headers .Everyone i ask tells me that they dont make headers for this car because its a turbo so i called a local speed shop and they told me they can get me hooker hi perf headers ceramic coated and they cost 699.00 thats no problem the problem is that only the 86 and 87 are listed in the book.I dont want to order them and then find out they dont fit and im out 700 dollars. So if anyone knows where ican get headers for my car please let me know. Also i want to change the computer chip i need advice on that also which to get and where,I live in brooklyn,ny but im sure i can get them shipped in from anywhere in the country.Any help i can get would be greatly appreciated. email me at jimbo66ny@aol.com name is jimmy.thanks.
