What is the maximum RPM I can shift at with a stock 231?
You can shift up around 5500 RPM, but it's not really worth it. Stock combo is usually about all done at 5000 RPM. You'll find that, depending on what bolt ons you have, most of the time shifting higher will slow you down in the quarter. Most of the time it shows up as a loss of MPH more than ET.
