i was told it was the fuel pump and fuel filter so i changed both of them and it still does it. What happens is you will put your foot to the floor and it goes till about in between 40 and 45mph and then it boggs then it kicks back up again and goes after bogging for a couple seconeds. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this and what it is?

There are a number of things that could cause this problem. Do you have a scan tool or know
someone ? In the past with the same symtoms you mention I replaced the coil, module and fuel pres.
reg. A scan tool like turbolink and the coil tester will point you in the right direction.

it is more like a surge than a bogg though.

This is the MPH range that the torque converter clutch lockup is generally targeted for. You may be sensing the TCC locking and unlocking. It would cause a fluctuation of several hundred RPM and would produce a 'bog' sensation under deaceleration or light acceleration if it was locked up at the wrong time.

If this is the case, it may be happening due to a wiring problem, false signal triggering the ECM to activate it, or transmission fluid routing problem. Something worth checking out.

Sure could be. I don't think 3rd gear will freewheel on deaceleration like OD. That alone might cause things to feel funny.

That combined with TCC antics would be particularly annoying.

I have a 87 GN and this is the problem. While driving it will bog down when I press the gas then surge. If I am traveling down the road at a constant speed it will buck about every 3 minutes. I think it may be the MAF sensor but how do I go about finding one? Kirban has discontinued them. Help?! My GN has 154,000 on it.

Go to either http://www.ramchargers.com or http://www.cottonsperformance.com and get a MAF for a LT1 and a translator.Hope that this helps.
