After packing my oil pump with vaseline and using a priming tool to spin the oil pump my oil pressure goes up then down to 0 then back up then back down to 0 and stays there. Any ideas?
Sounds like a leak somewhere in the oil pump path. Are the oil cooler lines tight? Bottom plate? Gear clearances set correctly?
Could be an air leak around an oil pressure gauge, the oil pressure relay, etc.
I had one that had some dirt or ? in the pressure relief valve that kept it stuck open.
Take the pan down and check the damn pickup tube! They have come loose on me twice, (once at the track cost 300$ to get it home life sucks) Please tell me it,s a mechanical gauge too!
