Hey, what is the maximum horsepower you can put through the stock 3.8 block? What is the maximum power the crankshaft will take? Does anyone know how much a fully assembled engine would weigh?

Conventional wisdom says that you can put ~500 HP thru the stock block with proper control of detonation.
This can be considerably extended with proper preparation of the block (like a girdle, steel mains, lightened/rebalanced rotating assembly, etc.)
The key is no detonation ... and the closer to the "edge" the more critical that becomes.
