| | Friday, September 06, 2002 - 07:46 pm Hello. I am thinking about converting a "N/A" 87 Regal to a 87 "turbo" Regal. The only reason being that it would be a fun project for my sons and I. I know there are bits and pieces of swap information all over the place, (RX7, Regal wagon, S-10, 84-85 to 86-87 upgrade, etc, etc), but has anyone put together a definitive upgrade plan and shopping list for this kind of project? If not, I will start one. I use the online group, so please reply to jsta6@bellsouth.net if you are a digester. Thanks-

| | Saturday, September 07, 2002 - 08:42 am What a GREAT idea Shawn! As you accumulate this, I can keep a web page on the site devoted to it, if you want (with full credit to you, of course!) This would be a valuable FAQ for folks that are doing swaps/hybrids and could reduce a lot of confusion... Here's a couple things off the top of my head: Fuel System
Wiring/ECM
Cooling
Transmission
Misc

| | Saturday, September 07, 2002 - 12:22 pm Motor mounts need to change location and type . The holes will already be there. Will require the entire engine wiring harness with all the relays. The headlight harness needs no changes.A fuse will have to be added for the injectors/fuel pump from the fuse box to the firewall plug (C100). The engine will have to have all the accessories and sensors . The entire exhaust from a turbo Regal from the cat forward will bolt right up . For the a/c to work one needs a GN compressor and the lines from the compressor to the condensor and dryer . The radiator will not need changing . The trans cooler and oil cooler will be there . The trans will work as is but should be updated to include the GN valve body etc. The electric fans will have to be installed . Will need GN TV cable for trans, Throttle cable, and cruise control cable . The colum shifter should work as is since the trans can be used as is. The fuel tank will not have to be changed but the plastic baffle will not be the same as the GN. Will need to install fuel pump and wiring (hot wire kit ). The fuel lines come through the right side frame up front so they will need to be fabricated to mate up to the fuel rail and FPR . It would be an excellent idea to also install an inline fuel filter . Nothing has been said but the instrument panel will need a great deal of modification if there are going to be any worthwhile gauges.

| | Saturday, September 07, 2002 - 07:26 pm I started one of my car. I took notes on everything that I did. I typed up and put a couple on my pages. Right now I have two documents typed, but will get to more. This should help some. Brian
