I have a problem with my 87'GN for some reason I
can't get any boost when driving . Ican hear the turbo kick in but nothing comes up on the boost gauge. I recently replaced the mass air flow , wastegate solenoid with no luck .
I also have a chrome MAF pipe coming from the turbo so I shouldn't be leaking air.If any one can help that would be most helpful.
Do you hear sound but the car does not pull? In other words, the car does not respond as if boost is being made?
Trying to figure out if the car is making boost but the boost gauge is not working.
If you are sure boost is not being made--
1. Hoses all tight between turbo and throttlebody?
2. No major exhaust leaks?
3. you have checked the wastegate actuator for proper spring tension?
4. You have checked the wastegate puck to see if it is closing? Kinda sounds like the wastegate is open if you hear turbo spooling but the car is not making boost.
5. You have pulled the hose off the turbo inlet and examined the conditon of the compressor blades plus wiggled the shaft for excessive play?
6. Removed the exhaust elbow and checked the turbine blades for free movement.
