Anyway, I was hoping you guys would have some insight into a problem i have... I dont have a GN(yet..) but im currently putting a remanufactured 231 in my 84 cutlass. When i was trying to remove the water pump from the front cover, all the smaller bolts but 1 broke off(!) Now im stuck with a bunch of nubs of bolts in the front cover, which i still need.. Any suggestions? or do you know where i could get a new front cover for reasonable money? i appreciate it guys.

Even if you could get the bolt stubs out, If you are putting a reman engine in it would be best to replace the cover. The cover is also the oil pump housing, and if it has a lot of wear in it with scratches etc, your oil pressure will not be up to par on your new engine. If after inspecting your old cover, you determine the oil pump housing is not worn, then get some PB Blaster, a small propane torch, a pair of vice grips, and a LOT of patience, and you may be able to salvage it.
