Thursday, December 26, 2002 - 10:25 pm My 87 GN will hesitate and not want to go past 3000 RPM's when I accelerate hard on the car. I have read on other posts that a clogged fuel filter may be the problem. I went to the spring cleaning section to find out how to replace the filter. Can someone tell me where the front test port on the front of the fuel rail is so I can relieve the pressure prior to replacing the filter? Thanks for helping out a newbie. Wilt

Friday, December 27, 2002 - 03:59 pm Stand in the very front of the car and follow the air inlet up from the intercooler to the throttle body. The throttle body has the accelerator linkage and a small block on top of it that has five vacuum lines attached to it. Just to the right of the throttle body you will find the fuel pressure regulator which is attached to a black fuel rail that goes back behind the engine and around to the other side. In the front of this rail, just forward of the fuel pressure regular is a black cap. This is the fuel pressure tap. Unscrew the cap, underneath you will find a valve this is exactly like the valves on your car tire. Place a rag underneath and press the valve. This will bleed the fuel pressure out of the system.
