| | Wednesday, September 10, 2003 - 01:15 pm Depending on many variables, including driving, track prep, traction (I didn't see a mention of slicks or sticky DOTs?), boost levels, octane, tuning and weather ... I'd say the car can easily be deep into the 11s.

| | Thursday, September 11, 2003 - 04:55 pm Walter Skilling had this to say on the gnttype.org mailing list: +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Your combo should be good for low 11's high 10's, but your injectors will never make it, IMHO 50's would still be marginal at best. I am out of injector with the PT50 but then again I have home ported GN1's. Walter Skilling youdlose@sbcglobal.net P.S. Thanks to Bruce, my oil-pressureless engine may have new life :-) Bruce is da man!!! +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+

| | Thursday, September 11, 2003 - 05:40 pm My O2mv... (Combining what Ken & Walter said) It depends. If everything is working correctly with the car, driver, and track prep, low 11's are possible with an agressive state of tune, but don't expect 11s right out of the chute. If you haven't run it before, go to the track the first time with lower expectations. Start with a mild state of tune and see what it does. Work it from there. IMO, Drag Radials will be needed to get a decent grip. I don't know if the Turbonetics TA-51 is a match to PTE's TA-51 or not, but if it is, it is going to spool up pretty quick and you will probably have a traction problem. My car is similar to yours with these exceptions: - PTE-52 Turbo - MSD 50s - Walbro 340 - Cotton's 2.75" Duals w/Walker Ultraflows - a smaller DP (2.5") - Non-adjustable Konis (or are they KYBs?...) Everthing else is dang near a match, sans the red brake calipers. Running 23* WOT timing and ~22psi on 100 Unleaded, I run, 12.10s @ ~113. This is with 1.77-1.80 60' times on Nitto DRs. My peak INJ DC is at ~87%, and my AFR is at ~11.5. According to the published data, I too should be good for low 11s, but that ain't the case, partly because I choose not to push it (mostly due to no roll bar). Could I pull the cat, throw in some leaded race gas, turn up the wick and do it? Yeah, I believe so, but I'll never know as there is no plans for a roll bar in the future. BTW, I see no mention of a bar in your car either. So what scan tools and data recorder do you have, and how has it performed at what state of tune so far? Dean

| | Thursday, September 11, 2003 - 06:21 pm No i have no roll bar in the car. I dont really plan on getting anytime soon. I havent run the car at the track yet but it does have a scanmaster. So you guys recommend 50's for the car?

| | Sunday, September 14, 2003 - 08:29 pm If you are staying with the stock ECM, yeah, MSD 50s minimum IMO, though you aren't getting much more over the 009s for $$ (unless you can sell the 009s for a decent price). I can't verify, but I have heard say of MSDs flowing as little as ~44#. Since I have no data to review, take that with a grain of salt. I saw a notable difference from the 009s in the set I got, with ~13% less InjDC (so ~13% more fuel than the 009s). Cost for me was minimal, though. But like Walter noted, it is still marginal for low 11s. There are Siemens 57# injectors out there, but I haven't seen much feedback on them. Dunno how well they are working for folks. On paper, they look good, and if I didn't already have MSDs, I would check into them. Check out racetronix.com. They seem to have good deals on various injectors at various times. If you plan to crack into the 11s or faster, I would encourage a data recorder, like Direct Scan or TurboLink. You can check out http://home.pacbell.net/sfnelson/turbo_regal_scantools.htm for my take on DS & TL. HTH Dean

| | Sunday, September 14, 2003 - 08:33 pm Walter had this to say on the gnttype.org mailing list: +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Ya, what Dean said :-) Get the Nittos if for the street, on 93 your high 11's, low 12's. Get some alky, and your mid 11's maybe low 11's. It will take time. Not sure why he thinks it will spool like that, hell my 50 likes a 3000 converter but I gotta 4500 :-) The 9/11 works like a 3000 till you put your foot into it. cya, Walter Skilling +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Dean

| | Sunday, September 14, 2003 - 08:46 pm BTW, I should have probably said DRs *at a minimum*. It is all I use now. My 52 is now actually a bit sluggish with the new chip (not complaining), but with my old chip it was dang near a hazzard! It would wick up REAL quick and I would spin the tires up through most of 2nd at the track (1.9-2.2s were the norm). On the street I just made sure not to quickly go WOT. I would just squeeze it on after I was into 2nd. Even then it would sometimes haze 'em at the top of second getting on the freeway, much like it does now... kinda fun, actually. :-D Dean

| | Monday, September 15, 2003 - 07:09 pm Yeah I was definetly planning on getting TurboLink or DS. I think I'm going to go with TL but i need a cheap laptop to buy. Anyone have one for sale?
