Thursday, January 15, 2004 - 05:45 pm New to the scene. I have a basically stock 87 GN which runs pretty well but have been having some issues with it not running smoothly at the top end between 10 and 15 psi of boost. 15 psi is my max. It has a 307 pump and an adjustable regulator and wastegate, Kenny Bell stage 2 chip, Impala MAF and translator but otherwise stock. Just recently though it won't even start. It turns over (but sounds almost like there is no compression on some of the cranks while the others sound normal), has fuel (gauge reads 45 psi or so but drops off to 0 after a couple of seconds after turning the key off) and has spark. I don't know what to check next. Any help would be appreciated.

Wednesday, January 21, 2004 - 10:31 am I had the same type of problem...if the car is loosing fuel pressure after a few seconds your regulator and/or pump are bad. See http://www.gnttype.org/index1.html “1987 GN charcoal canister filled with gas”.
