On the 86/87 GNs, which direction should the vacuum check valves be installed for the charcoal canister and EGR? The black side of the check valve labeled “VAC” should always plug into the vacuum “sucking” side of the vacuum hose? I am aware of the “1986-87 Buick Engine Vacuum hose routing diagram” but it is not clear on the direction of installation. Thanks.

On the canister white faces front and on the egr white faces rear.
