Michael T Ross (Miketr) | Monday, July 30, 2001 - 03:17 pm I'm looking at a 1982 Regal Sport coupe with the 3.8 turbo. Like I said, it sounds like a rod knock. I have a 3.8 out of a non turbo 1986 Regal. Will this motor work? Do you think this car is even worth putting work/money into? I looked at the production numbers and it says that there were only 2,022 made! I can buy the car for less then $300....do I buy it? Thanks from the new guy! |
Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Tuesday, July 31, 2001 - 06:14 am The block will work ... crank is probably not rolled fillet, wrong pistons, wrong rings, wrong cam, but it would provide a good basis for a build up. |
Dan McCann (Hurstgn) | Tuesday, August 07, 2001 - 11:06 am If you decide to buy it, and change the motor over to something more stout...and decide to dump the old carb, let me know. I'm still looking out for an original early build 82 Sport Coupe carb. To date, only one I can find is the original engineering master originally used by the Buick engineers when working on the design of the 82 Sport Coupe motor. Naturally, I'm not going to bolt this one on anytime soon. :-) |
