I'll be building the "spare bullet" this winter. Basically a freshened up std bore, stock pistons, balanced and RJC girdled. Also magnafluxed recip assembly. This one will see some basic head work, mild flat tappet hyd. cam and high boost at the track. (25 to 27 lbs) Whats the consencious on the Zero gap rings for our motors VS using .005 overs and file fitting them. I know of one fella in Ohio who has had good luck with his Zero gaps, still holds good compression even though he has hammered out a few head gaskets in the past couple of years.
This tells me that they hold up fairly good even with a bit of abuse. But I would like any additional input on them before I buck up for them. Anyone have any bad experiences using them, or other info to share?
