Hi! I just picked up a genuine GN gas tank for cheap. I need this tank for a conversion that im doing. The tank has some rust. Do you think its worth it to have it cleaned and coated internally?? How much is a new tank if they still make them? I can get the tank cleaned and coated for $100.....does that sound reasonable? Thanks
These tanks have an internal plastic baffle that might make cleaning and coating difficult without disassembly. I think the new tanks are available from GM, but aren't cheap. There are aftermarket units from Canada that include some type of metal baffle, but some people have had problems with fuel starvation with them.
Please tell me what brand of Gas Tanks you have heard that cause Fuel Starvation. I am curious to know. I am going to purchase an after market Tank from Canada.
