does anyone know if there is a special tool for the motor mounts (frame mounts). i'm having a hard time trying to get to the bolts because of the holes underneath are so small.

I dont know of any special tools but I have done about a dozen of v8 conversions on g body cars, s 10s and so on, And yup your correct the nuts are a u know what! The best way ive found is put the bolt down thru the frame mount and frame and tape the nut to a good long wrench like a quality snap on or mac 9/16 or 15mm what ever you are using, and reach in through the hole where the fuel lines come in. You may have to do one or two through the opening where the lower control arm pivots, its still a bear but with some patients and a impact gun ive done them in 10 mins or so. Asuming the eng is out, if not then gotta do it w another wrench or ratchet...good luck

Amen to that, a real pain in the butt, I usually go through the control arm holes, long extesion and universal help a lot and of course the right word always works. If you have a friend with a g-body with a chev v-8, look for the correct location for the mounts, as they move forward and use only 3 of the 4 bolt holes in the mount.
