Hopefully my last engine question........I am looking for the right head gasket to use. Not sure whether or not to use the FelPro9441PT or the steel shim. I have a TA49 turbo with all the other normal mods. Im assuming the Fel Pros will be the easiest. How are the steel shim gaskets installed? thanks (again)

Everything you need to know about head gaskets is listed on the GNTTYPE web site in the Technical section, Technical Articles, Engine - "Head Sealing Tips". The 9441T gaskets are the same as the GM stockers, cheaper in the long run and MUCH easier to install.

anthony nothing like blowing a head gasket to ruin your day just got done replacing mine and getting the passenger rear bottom head bolt is like giving birth so my wife can't bitch that i don't know the pain. i do now. but i had picked up a complete set for the upper half of the motor from cometic gaskets for about $188 but it came with everything for the top end. i do have a few tricks that will make the whole process go easier i didn't find out untill the reassembly stage but would be willing to pass them on you can e-mail at papapat123@hotmail.com
