Thursday, December 20, 2001 - 10:25 pm Hopefully my last engine question........I am looking for the right head gasket to use. Not sure whether or not to use the FelPro9441PT or the steel shim. I have a TA49 turbo with all the other normal mods. Im assuming the Fel Pros will be the easiest. How are the steel shim gaskets installed? thanks (again)

Friday, December 21, 2001 - 07:32 am Everything you need to know about head gaskets is listed on the GNTTYPE web site in the Technical section, Technical Articles, Engine - "Head Sealing Tips". The 9441T gaskets are the same as the GM stockers, cheaper in the long run and MUCH easier to install.

Saturday, October 04, 2003 - 05:07 pm anthony nothing like blowing a head gasket to ruin your day just got done replacing mine and getting the passenger rear bottom head bolt is like giving birth so my wife can't bitch that i don't know the pain. i do now. but i had picked up a complete set for the upper half of the motor from cometic gaskets for about $188 but it came with everything for the top end. i do have a few tricks that will make the whole process go easier i didn't find out untill the reassembly stage but would be willing to pass them on you can e-mail at papapat123@hotmail.com
