have 87 gn...165k on all original. gone through 2 turbochargers in a month. thinking i should probably do a complete rebuild at this point. car is street/only raced between stoplights. does anybody have experience with summit's rebuild kit with forged pistons? what camshaft? where can i get a complete engine in crate? if i rebuild should heads be ported/polished? any input/advice would be appreciated. x4lawson@hotmail.com

I would have to agree that you need to find out why it is eating turbos. For summits rebuild, good luck getting TRW forged pistons. There has been a problem with them getting forged TRW's since November. I'm getting ready to build a motor and I'm going to go with JE's. I've seen a few sets and they are high quality componets. You could also call the GSCA club. They offer the stock piston. Good luck.

Did you change the oil feed line? That would cause the turbo to go prematurely, or could of just bought one one with a small defect in workmanship? Hard to tell but oil is its lifeline!
