Hello everyone. I am new to the whole Buick Grand National/T-Type field. My brother is actually looking at getting a '87 T-Type regal tomorrow. But I was just wondering if some of you might be able to help me out with this one. What we are looking at it a '87 T-Type Regal white w/ burgundy interior and a factory sunroof. The car is still wearing it's original paint which happens to be VERY VERY nice for it's age and has 100K miles on it. Who ever had this car took great care of it! I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me the prodction figures on the sunroof cars of that year. Thanks for your help! Chances are, he'll get the car... and if he does, I'll be sure to show all of you a few pictures.

Thanks!
Justin

Justin I have a 87 Turbo T white w/burgundy w t-tops. Production figures can be found I believe in the resource index. The did not make as many Turbo T's as they did Grand Nationals, they are rare cars indeed and worth the investment. Factory paint that looks good on a 100k car sounds rare in itself.Check out undercarriage and body mount location for rust and rot underneath the doors are common. How much are they asking for it, sounds like a 5,000 to 7,000 car to me.Good Luck...

Hello
Im Corndog's Brother and I did get the 87 Buick Regal Turbo T. Believe it or not, I did an even trade with my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am. I think I got the better end of the deal. After a day of cleaning it up, I cant believe how nice this car is. It does have the original white paint with just minor nics in the paint here and there. It still shines pretty good. The interior is awesome, headliner, carpet, seats, and door panels look brand new. It doesn't leak anywhere even around the sunroof. The car from what I have seen has no rust. The car has 110k miles on it, Very Strong Motor The motor does have some mods done to it. Cold Air intake with K&N filter, 3 inch down pipe, with 3 inch exhaust all the way out the back. Not sure if it has anything done internally but when it idles it sounds like it has a cam. Not really sure if this is how they sound normally but doesnt sound stock. Well thats about it.

Jon

Hi Jon and welcome. The one thing I have learned is that there is a lot to learn. Before you do anything learn all that you can as these cars are diffrent from any car you have everr owned. Don't be afraid to ask questions. There are 3 major sites on the net that can all help you. Besides this site there is also turbobuick.com and turbobuicks.com. Enjoy Jon.

Thanks Gary,
Im definetly gonna start researching these cars. Im 20 and my first and only car up till yesterday was a 79 TA. I know about those cars pretty good but Im new to these Turbo Buicks much less any computer cars LOL. One question, When I cleaned it up, I found some recent 1/8 drag slips and it had 7.1 on it. Not sure if thats what a stock buick Turbo T runs but thats seems pretty quick.
Do you know what it may run in the quarter.
Thanks again
Jon

7.1's????? I am guessing maybe it was his buddies slips if the car is anything close to stock. That et in the 1/8th is a low to mid 11 quarter mile run. A stock T on street tires should be good for mid to upper 8's to low 9's. Quarter mile times would range from mid to upper 13's to low 14's. I am sure there are some guys who have gone faster in stock trim but I think this is a fair representation in stock trim. Tires being the limiting factor.

7.1 1/8 mile translates into an 11.08 1/4 mile (!!!!!)

you got yourself a hot 10 sec Turbo T if that's true!! Though im sure you'd know it if it was really that fast..you'd be changing underwear after you florred it. Ehh..post some pics of that motor and then post a link to them :D! It's gotta be timeslips from a different car..

I guess it was from his friends car HAHA BUT something I forgot about was that the man I got it from said the owner before him had two engines, the one that is in it and another all out race engine. He told me that the car was running 11's and 12's with that other engine till he blew it up. So he put the good engine back in. That totally slipped my mind when I posted earlier. I guess that explains those timeslips. being under the seat. Ill try to get some pics as soon as possible. Im at school studying for my finals (supposely) and get done on wed for christmas break
