I've got an '87 GN with the Astro Roof and a Digital dash. My question is, how rare of an option is this setup, vs. lets say a T-top car with a digital dash, or analog dash, etc.
Production #'s anyone?

Thanks a lot!

I was working for a Buick dealer in 1987. I have only seen one GN with a astro roof. Very common on T-Types. Digital dash rare but not popular with customers during the "G" car years. Too bright at night and without a mod only goes to 85. In my option it's not a plus on resale.

I'm new here, but I'm picking up my '84 GN with in the month. It's loaded with power everything, T-tops, etc etc. Anyone have a break down on how may T-tops were built in '84 or is there a list somewhere on the net with production numbers? Thank you for the help.

I don't believe anyone has been able to nail down a breakdown of option counts on these cars from GM. But I think its pretty universally accepted that the astroroof is pretty rare. As is the engine block heater, and a few others.

Digital dash is definitely more rare than analog, and generally not as desireable among those who actually drive their cars.

The astroroof is just a fancy name for the sliding moonroof

In 87 GM called the steel roof a "sunroof" and the glass roof a "astroroof" The way to tell if it's a factory roof is the paint on the roof meets the weatherstrip on the sunroof. On factory roofs the hole was stamped in and rolled under. The add on roofs the hole was cut in and to hide the edge a metal band was installed. The bands came in black or silver.
