well, im new, mainly to the real world, but also to this club.
i fell in love with TRs such a long time ago that i cant even recount the year, even if im young.
i dont own one YET (this slight problem is currently in the process of being solved, so please dont remove me for not owning one, i own a Skylark though :D thats why i love the little needed maintanence)
ive looked at the posts for the TRs here in town, and am quite interested, and if i were of a higher status, id already have one.
Fact is money is short, so im saving for one.
I know little to none about cars and only do what simple wrench turning i know, brakes, pumps, and pulleys, anything bigger than a socket wrench turns me into an infant :)

if anyone could help me in a direction of what year might be best, or as to any specifics i need to look into when buying one (i know a good engine, tranny, and little body damage if any at all are good things to look for) please tell me, i dont know enough about them yet, but im very, very willing to learn. also if anyone of the members here in good ol' Amarillo would be willing to talk to me face to face, id be more than obliged to meet with you, id like to see the aura that the club gives off. thanks for reading this incredibly long and boring post.

(P.S. Mods, you might look into getting rid of the spell checker feature, i wanted to make sure i didnt sound like a twit on my first post, and sure enough the dot-com age still hasnt ceased ;))

Well, if money is a factor, and you plan on upgrading in the future, then I would go with an 86/87. The upgrade parts are easier to find, and usually cheaper. Also, there are alot more of them out there. Again, if money is a factor, then forget about the GN. You can find yourself a nice Turbo Regal (T, T-Type, Turbo Limited, WE-4). They have the same drivetrain, and can be had with the same options. When going to look at one, check out the buying guide on this site:

Good Luck, Welcome aboard.

Brian
