eric smith (Erock1971) | Saturday, March 23, 2002 - 10:50 pm I just installed a 200 4r from a monty ss and, instaleed my shift kit yada yada went in great, except the 4 prong wire clip,, looks the same but does not have same groves, will not fit. So I gave it a test run to see if the trans is ok (like I was told) and of course there is problems, I suppose from the cpu not controling the trans.. My question is why is the clip different and how can I fix, or even can I? And do these symptoms sound correct for lack of connect to cpu.? waits to upshift doesent down shift correctly, holds gear long, wont go back into 1st without manualy shifting.... tnx for your help.. I would like to fix this weakend have a g1 eric smith |

Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Sunday, March 24, 2002 - 10:20 am The Monte SS trans has different wiring than the Buick. I don't think they have a fourth gear pressure switch (if I remember right). You need to change the wiring inside the transmission and get the proper plug. It might involve drilling the hole for the 4th gear pressure switch. You upshift and downshift problems aren't from the ECM (all it does is lock/unlock the converter and read the gear switches). Your problems are in the fluid system somewhere (sounds like the shift kit is leaking or the TV pressure is way off). |
