I have an 87GN and recently had the vigilante 9" torque converter from precision industries installed. Shortly after I noticed a marble rattling sound when in park. It sounds like somebody left bolts lay around in the trans pan or something. Not the sound you want your friends to here at the local hangout. there's no noticiable performance problem. I asked my installer about it and he immediately told me all of the vigilantes do this because of their multidisc design. Please tell me im not the only one with this noise, is there anything we can do about it without taking it out? Iwould think for $1000 this conv. wouldn't make an annoying noise like this. any ideas?
David, I had mine in for almost 2 years now and it still makes that annoying noise (not as noticeable though). Besides the noise which really isn't so annoying to me (either I got used to it or it really did simmer down), converter does work great.
