Eddie D. Lopez (Pikespeakregal) | Tuesday, May 14, 2002 - 08:59 pm I recently had a 200c (3-speed) tranny rebuilt and was asked which type of converter I planned on using, lock-up or non. I decided on non-lockup for cost considerations. I currently have a modified D5 and manual shift transmission that is not connected to the ECM, thus no lockup. Why cannot a lock-up converter simply be used without the lockup functionality, hence, non-lockup? How can I determine if my D5 was rebuilt as a non-lockup? I was told after the rebuild that I needed a non-lock converter because that was how the tranny was built. Any input will be appreciated. TIA |
