I just put a shift kit in my 86 GN.Now the Tranny won't shift out of park.I thought it might be locked in because I had the front of car up on ramps for so long (3 months). When I took the ramps out from under the car and set it down I rocked the car back and forth.No luck! It's still locked up! Right now I don't have any Tranny fluid in, just in case I have to tear it apart again.Also the battery is out of the car.Would either no power or no fluid cause this problem?
p.s. if I unhook the cable from the linkage the shifter moves easily. Thanks in advance, Curt.
You must have trans fluid in there and at the proper level before you do anything like trying to use it. Hopefully you havent damaged it by running it with no fluid.
