Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Thursday, June 21, 2001 - 03:39 pm The TransPak has the revised pressure regulator valve, upgraded TV springs, etc. and you can set the kit to a couple of different firmness levels. From the literature I have from mine: The Transpak has all the features in the Shift Improver Kit plus it provides additional driver manual control. Most conventional automatic transmissions won't downshift into low gear above 15 mph, and automatically up shift at a predetermined speed no matter what gear you are in. With a Transpak you can downshift at any speed, you can also hold the transmission in first gear to any speed that you want. Stage 1. Heavy Duty For street rods, normal passenger vehicles or other heavy-duty use. Firmer shift feel but not harsh. Improves transmission performance and life dramatically without loss of comfort. Normal automatic operation when in 'Drive'. Stage 2. Hi-Performance Street - This is what I use For full performance street use. Essentially the same as Heavy Duty mode except shift is much snappier. Retrain full automatic features and standard shift points with selector in 'Drive'. |
Bob Mongeon (Bob1965) | Tuesday, July 03, 2001 - 09:09 pm Ken another question, after the fact(i installed the trans pak) what are the normal shift points, mine seems to be shifting at about 22mph for 1-2 38mph for 2-3 52mph for 3-4 does this sound right or to high, and if so what did i do wrong? the shifts are quite snappy, you deffinately know when the car shifts now... |
Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Wednesday, July 04, 2001 - 06:33 am Shift points will depend on how much throttle you are giving it ... those sound like light throttle shift points and are probably OK? Did you use the "street" or the "Heavy Duty" option. Also, you can soften up the shifts a bit by moving the TV cable a couple clicks towards the front of the car... it will still be quick shifts, but not as jerky and still click them hard at WOT. |
Bob Mongeon (Bob1965) | Thursday, July 05, 2001 - 03:53 am I used the street app...thanks again...and i dont care what they say about ya:-) |
