Sunday, November 10, 2002 - 05:36 pm Well I know my TCC solenoid has been out for a week and last night while driving around my car wouldnt go into 4th gear. What would cause this? IF the 4th gear pressure switch went out would it not let the transmission go into 4th gear? Its still shifting just fine for the TCC solenoid being out but it just wouldnt go into 4th gear. And this morning I went to leave the driveway and my car wouldnt go into reverse. What would cause all this?
P.S. Im replacing my TCC solenoid and 4th gear pressure switch monday.
Monday, November 11, 2002 - 12:11 pm I am not a transmission expert but every other year mine has the same symptons and that means a trip to the trans rebuilder. I not sure but I remember hearing somewere that if the TCC does not lock up that the fluid bypasses the cooler. If this is the case your problems may have been caused by overheating the ATF? I do know that if your 4th pressure switch was bad that it would not prevent it from shifting into OD.
Monday, November 11, 2002 - 01:02 pm Well I heard that about the same thing about the fulid bypassing the cooler as well so Im swapping the TCC solenoid today and i hope this clear up the problems.
