Hello,
I bought my first GN last tuesday. It has many mods done to it and i love the way she sounds. To my knowledge, it seems like the tranny likes to not shift quietly into practically any gear. It does it once, then i won't hear from it again for a while, then it will do it again. If i edge up to the shift point, it will "kick" a few times and then shift in, but if i speed through it, its smoother than hell. I put my ATR Pitbull street chip in yesterday and it didnt do it once. I was happy about that, yet when i got home from school, the check engine light came on. The engine bay felt a little warmer than normal, so i switched chips back just to be safe. If someone could give me a hint on the idea, itd be much appreciated before my tranny is in the middle of a drag strip or highway.

just a guess, but it sounds like the chip you have in there has the TCC lockup speeds set too close to the shift points to where the torque converter clutch solenoid is locking/unlocking right before it shifts.

..hope it's that simple anyway. But if a chip change fixes it - that might be the problem since the TCC is controlled by the ECM, but the trans isn't. Thats really the only thing I can think of.
