I recently had the horrible experience of destroying the engine in my 86 GN. Two rear cylinders suffered the most damage. Right rear piston totally gone along with three lifters and two push rods. The block suffered major damage and the camshaft went through the back of the block. Metal shrapnel throughout the engine. Question is whether or not this stuff could find it's way into the trans/converter? The flywheel was damaged by the camshaft and will have to be replaced.(bent) The trans has less than 3k on rebuild and was working fine. What do you guys think??? I'm new to the turbo Buick so any and all inputs are greatly appreciated. What a way to get started!!

I would say the tranny should be fine as far as shrapnel goes, unless it put a hole in the tranny. I would say the turbo may be toast though. What exactly happened? Do you have a scantool?
