Les Strickland (Les_Strickland) | Tuesday, June 03, 2003 - 11:09 am I pulled my drive shaft out this weekend to replace the u-joints. I am hearing that familiar 'clunk' when changing gears from D to R (occasionally, not always). When I pulled the drive shaft out, I discovered the output shaft on the tranny had play in it. I also could twist it slightly and I now believe THAT is where the 'clunk' sound originated. Is this a problem? Is this normal? I also read where there is bushing that can be replaced that will stop that. I also read about a tool that allows this to be done without removing the tranny. Thought? Suggestions? Les |
