I recently purchased my second 87 Turbo T and I noticed that this guy mounted his trans temp right into the pan. I get temps of like 210 to 240 range, is this normal. I thought the guage has to be on the return line of the already installed trans cooler. Anyway im also getting a laggy start seems like takin off in second almost and no strong kicks into next gear. Just a lazy kind of shift almost feels like a slip makes the revs go a little high and squeals the belt tensioner a little. Also when parked im losing quite a bit of tranny fluid but no leakin when drivin??? I havent found out where its comin from yet and im about to rebuild this thing if I cant solve these problems.Its a brf 200r4 with trans go shift kit and stock d5 converter. Any ideas??
Could be leaking out the whep hole on the top of the tranny. Tranny usually runs about 15 to 20 degrees hotter then the engine, at least I thought they did. I am by far no tranny expert but just trying to give you some ideas. Maybe jack it up and start it up and see where it is leaking from. I would definatly take it to a shop and have them check it over before you ruin it to the point were it will cost you more to fix it, the tranny that is. Nick
