After having my recent tranny "gremlin", I thought back to a previous time when I had my car worked on and I was told that I didn't have the correct TV cable, but the one that was on the car was gotten "pretty close" to where a factory one was supposed to be. And it's been fine, as far as I know, but with this recent gremlin I'd like to make for sure. Is there a part number to look for on the actual cable? I found a stamped in number on the top, where it has the adjustment piece, and it's 7027, but it seems too short to be a part number. Any ideas as to how I can verify if my cable isn't the right one? If it isn't, does anybody know how much a correct one will cost me?
Part # 25532115, just got one from Jim Pace Performance Parts. Retail $89, Net $66.75. Will sell my perfectly good original for $50 plus shipping. Just do not see the need to put it back on and sell the one I just got, both are good. Car has 45K miles, see "Wont stay in OD" thread for my reason to buy.
Pace actually had it in stock! I tried multiple parts stores, they could not find it listed or they would give me the wrong one. Tried local dealership, they could order but of course wanted $95
