Jeff Yowell (Goldt) | Saturday, September 15, 2001 - 10:07 pm On this website, there is a procedure for defeating the TCC by wiring in a switch into the purple wire coming out of the brake pedal upper switch. Before adding the switch, my converter bogged down my motor and bucked badly when warm. After the installation, the trans. shifts much better when warm. Does this switch completely defeat the TCC function, or does it just delay it? My main concern is with heat buildup and extra wear and tear on my trans./converter. |

It sounds like maybe your TCC solenoid was sticking (they get that way as they age, get a little varnish in them, etc.). It might be a good thing to just replace the solenoid and see if things go back to normal. If not, it might be the chip calibration, since it controls the conditions for lock up. |
